Ardabil

Ardabil (Persian: اردبیل[4]) is a city in northwestern Iran. It is in the Central District of Ardabil County, Ardabil province, Iran, serving as capital of the province,[5][6] the county, and the district.[7] The official language is Persian like the rest of Iran and the majority language is Azerbaijani. As of the 2022 census, Ardabil's population was 588,000.[8] The population of Ardabil County is about 650,000[3] with the majority Shia Muslim.[9]
