When you’ve been in Italy more than a week and you (or your kids) are craving something different, this place hits the spot. We stopped in on a hot afternoon and enjoyed cold drinks and a cheeseburger and fries in a lovely atmosphere with shade, misters, and plenty of live plants. Gondolas pass by regularly, the service is good, and a fresh breeze from the canals passes through the patio. Highly recommend for an afternoon refresher. My kids actually loved that the French fries came with salsa rather than ketchup. Clientele is decidedly American but that is to be expected given the menu. PS try a “Hugo” drink while in Venice

Fabulous home style meal in the hole in the wall restaurant in the San Polo area. There is no canal view, but they do have an outdoor style seating area which was covered we went due to rain. This delightful place is run by a husband and wife team. We first tried to walk-in on a Friday evening without a booking but unfortunately they were fully booked, so we booked a table for the next night. We had two starters (Mussels & Clams with Toasts + Mixed Raw Seafood Platter Venetian Style) and two pastas for main (Tagliolini with Scallops & Asparagus + Tagliolini with Mixed Seafood). All portions were quite large so we were full at the end of the meal and couldn't have dessert. The starters were definitely the highlight for us, the broth of the Mussels & Clams was so tasty and the raw seafood platter was very fresh. The service by Larisa was friendly and efficient all on her own, plus Virgilio's wonderful cooking. Also very reasonably priced. A great meal and would definitely recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment!

My bf and I had our last dinner here. The restaurant is very popular and friendly. We had sardines, caprese salad, lasagna and carbonara pasta. Sardines, lasagna and pasta was delicious. However, we were a bit disappointed in the caprese salad bc of the tomatoes. Overall, it's very good value for money.

My girlfriend and I had an AMAZING experience at this place. The menu may seem small but each dish is crafted perfectly. They are all Sicilian recipes that have been passed down generations. The owner was incredibly personable and made elevated experience that much more. We are glad to have found this place and look forward to eventually coming back.

Wow, I mean wow. Excellent service from wine suggestions to just overall attention to detail. I was very skeptical coming to Venice to find something of this quality. This could easily compete with the top restaurant in Italy which I am sure it does. The food was all excellent with the amuse bouche being fun interpretations of Italian classics, the mains which include staple home-made pasta dishes with interesting flavours to meats such as rabbit. All of it cooked and seasoned to perfection. Deserving of a star. I hope you get one!

Our dining experience at Osteria Bancogiro in Venice was an absolute delight, highlighted by the exquisite flavors of lobster pasta and a refreshing accompaniment of beer. This charming establishment truly captured the essence of Venetian cuisine, leaving us with a memorable culinary journey. The lobster pasta at Osteria Bancogiro was a true masterpiece. The pasta was cooked to perfection, complemented by succulent pieces of tender lobster that melted in our mouths. The flavors were harmoniously balanced, with each ingredient shining through to create a delectable symphony on our taste buds. The presentation was equally impressive, showcasing the attention to detail and culinary artistry of the chefs. To accompany our delicious meal, we opted for a refreshing beer from Osteria Bancogiro's beverage selection. The beer provided a perfect balance to the richness of the lobster pasta, enhancing the dining experience with its crisp and invigorating flavors. The knowledgeable staff recommended the perfect beer pairing, further demonstrating their commitment to ensuring a memorable dining experience for their patrons.

I almost never write bad reviews. Not unless there is gross misconduct. I don’t understand the disconnect between the wonderful gushing reviews and my experience. Let me say I did read all the reviews beforehand but as other’s thought, they must have gone to the wrong place. I went to campo ss per google address. Appointment was made for a time when google said they were closed. Still the appointment was made online and I went. I met the elder gentleman who is on the website. I do not think there can be a mistake. I ordered a la carte as I was hungry. I trusted them to provide me with a excellent meal for my effort. They did not. The best part was the bacalao mousse which was given at the start. This is the reason for 2 stars. I also got the black ink pasta (tasted like ketchup ie tomato-y and sweet) , not inedible , maybe it’s how they do it here in Venice(?), so I ate. Fine. Then the sea bass. Why is it served skin down? I don’t think skin started out crisp. It was flabby. Fish also was somewhat over cooked. I’m disappointed. I’ve been all over the world. Elsewhere this would be considered a bad showing. Is this typical for Venice nowadays or was it not chef who was cooking but the dishie?

The food was very delicious. Perfect balance and no after taste. The squid appetizer was very balanced, and had amazing flavor. The Duck was sweet and succulent. The tuna was elegantly displayed with no remnants of fishy flavor at a perfect blood red color. The pasta was al dente and the french fries were a perfect golden brown with the crispy outer layer. The waiters and waitresses were very accommodating and extremely polite. Their passion for their trade and services was represented in their actions the make the dinner experience perfect. The atmosphere had a very romantic feel with dime lighting and an open view of the sky. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The sea bass ravioli and grill sea bream all fresh, handled with care and delicious. Worth the trip to Guidecca for La Palanca and a stroll through nearby Redentore.

Our waiter was very knowledgeable having recommended us amazing drinks (the IPA with lemon and basil noted was exquisite!) and food. We got the perfect seating outside and enjoyed a the freshest, most delicious dinner. The tartar, beef, rabbit pasta and the tiramisu were all top notch. Highly recommended place for its atmosphere, high quality service and most importantly amazing food.

Gorgeous venue inside was discovered when the weather outside at the dining hour was not cooperative. The staff was attentive without being intrusive and very knowledgeable about their offerings. Valentino ensured my nut allergy was noted and avoided any challenges. The food was a welcome surprise as each bite was savored and the gnocchi were indeed pillows of goodness. We had a wonderful dinner here on our last night in Venice. Food was amazing and our server was very kind and attentive. I am gluten free, and they were kind enough to do the risotto for min 2 ppl for 1 person so I could enjoy it. It was delicious! My husband had the spaghetti with clams - he said it was the best he had on the trip. Clams fresh caught, and smelled just delightful. At the end of the meal they brought us an aperitif, complements of the house. My only regret is we should have arrived hungrier so we could have enjoyed more of their menu. Enjoy!

Stumbled in here on a rainy afternoon in Venice and didn’t quite know what we were getting ourselves in to. First up it’s on us for not doing our research but this place was VERY expensive. The food, despite being quite dainty portion wise was excellent but the wine menu was like a hardback book and finding an affordable bottle of wine took some time. I’m sure if money is no object this place is way more awesome than I experienced. Just beware that it will cost you an arm and maybe even a leg. *Update* I have to disagree with the Managers reply. That same evening I had a phenomenal meal at a local Osteria and it was about 1/5 of the price. Venice does not equal expensive!

We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco and then We had a shared starter of the mussels and clams, the sauce was delicious! I had the salmon ravioli and my partner had the steak, but like we always do we shared a bit of both and finally finished with the cheesecake. Would highly recommend when in Venice!

The architecture and the decor are absolutely breathtaking. It is an effect of many renovations, predominantly some nineteenth-century works which gave it the phantasmagoric, historical look it has today. The exhibitions are also fantastic! The curators make sure the display is clear and engaging. Definitely worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed! Even if you are not intending to buy an exhibition ticket, you can lurk around to see the architecture. The staircase rivals this of the Palazzo Ducale 😉

Very beautiful interiors, incredible Murano glass chandeliers, beautiful paintings, velvet and antique mirrors. In one of the rooms you can smell the aroma oils and imagine what the ancient perfumery was like. Palazzo is an island of calm in the middle of Venice. This place makes you feel like a real princess. One of most memorable visits for us in Florence. We went for the tour here and found the audio tour recordings very interesting and elaborating to entire history. The theatre with its accompanying rooms are gorgeous. The colors, quiet atmosphere of the place with no crowds made it my favorite to be honest given less people were around to crowd the space and enjoy quiet time. The shows were not on unfortunately when we went but tour was great nonetheless. One last point, we loved the gift store here which is well priced and bought some shirts and gifts which will be nice memory of Venice.

Thankfully it was not an issue and the QR code on my ticket still let me in. I talked with my friend and they said that coming earlier was not a problem either. I guess it must be at the day, hour doesn't matter that much. I was happy to find out that there was an elevator going to the top. I don't have problems with sports, but it was crazy hot outside. The views from the top were amazing. I was lucky to have a great weather, too. You can see all important places from St. Mark's square from above.
