Petra is a famous ancient city located in the southern part of Jordan. It is known for its unique rock-cut architecture, which was built by the Nabataeans, an ancient Arab people, between 400 BC and 100 AD. The most iconic of these structures is the Treasury, carved into solid sandstone and standing 40 meters high.
