After reading so many good reviews about this place, we went for dinner. It's great with Bun Bo Hue and Vegetarian Bun, hot broth suitable for a rainy afternoon. The food is very good and tasty. The restaurant space is clean, the friendly staff always has a bright smile. We were completely satisfied with our meal.

Tourist trap… tons of group tour people coming in. It took almost an hour to get my guava juice… and it turns out to be simply sugar ( very little guava). It didn’t drink it at all at the end. The pork noodle - Taste is good, but the pork is over cooked. Very dried and chewy… The spring roll we had was tasteless. Definitely the worst restaurant I went in the last 10 days in Vietnam. And it’s overpriced too

Some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had! There’s a reason why there’s so many reviews for this place. Here’s what we ordered: Bun Cha, Bo Cuan La Lot, Nem Ran, and Bo Xao Sa Ot. The must are the Bun Cha and Bo Cuan La Lot, such a wonderful experience. Special shout-out to Windy who was very kind in serving us and really gave some great ordering recommendations. He spoke fluent English and made the whole dining experience very pleasant especially showing us how to make the rolls for the Bun Cha and Bo Cuan La Lot. The place is very clean, and the bathroom is very clean as well. They also have free wifi which is a plus. My family and I will definitely be coming back!

Very nice people work there and great view . Staff talk to you and show interest if you like food and where you come from etc it’s nice from them. The food was nice and I love my crème brûlée , always want this dessert it was very well made and not too sweet the ice cream was very good too. Thank you . It was my last day in Hanoi Vietnam on my holidays so I wanted fancy food and this restaurant is beautiful and has good food. Easy to find it too close to the lake. I would come again if I could . MUST TRY! 10/10 Excellent food with some of the most fantastic flavors we’ve ever tried. We went in early July, just a few weeks before they change the Spring Menu for the Summer one. I especially appreciated how they were able to showcase Vietnamese cuisine using some of the best seafood and meats from Japan and Spain. The stand out dishes for me were the Tom Yum Carabinero and the spicy Weaver ants on toast. Absolutely delicious. Service was smooth and easy. Music was a bit loud but not disruptive. Allocate about 3 hours for the 18 course menu!

Really great atmosphere and meal. Food is delicious & well plated. The egg coffee in particular is a must! Quang was a good server. Cocktails are decent, though not as good as the food. Happy hour is buy one get one free for cocktails from 4-6pm. They are slightly pushy in asking you to leave a review at the end of your meal, which is at odds with an otherwise quite nice experience.

What a delight! Such a friendly and welcoming family run business whose passion for customer satisfaction knows no bounds. It's a little hard to spot from the road because there's just a small sign out front. You'd go through a small alleyway and up a staircase which opens up into a common room with a well-run kitchen immediately to the right. The menu is abundant for both vegan and non vegan patrons. Don't get too excited and order too much as we did because they also offer a braised tofu in tomato based dish with steamed jasmine rice and a big bowl of fresh herbs on the house. It was so delicious but we definitely over ordered. Additionally, we ordered the vegan spring rolls, sauteed green beans, the vegan pepper chicken and full duck and veggies dish to share amongst three. To top it off, they brought out a bowl of veggie soup. Man, they really do take a full belly and happy faces to a new level. While there were more non locals dining here tonight, I can't imagine locals not loving the flavors and vegan innovation. The vibe was very respectful and calm while supportive and fun. Highly recommend you making this a stop for dinner. Our meal cost 345k and was 100x better than Duong which was Michelin admitted this past year. And if the food and service wasn't enough, the social enterprise ambition of Mr William is purely admirable and truly achievable given the kindness of his spirit and soul. 10/10

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Chapter Dining & Grill with a business partner. The restaurant's unique camping concept is incredibly innovative and added a delightful touch to our experience. The highlight of our meal was the duck - it was so outstanding, it rivaled what I've had at Siring in Bangkok. The service was top-notch; the staff were helpful, explained each dish thoroughly, and were extremely professional. I also appreciated their proactive approach when I was accidentally double-charged. They promptly addressed the issue and even followed up to make sure it was resolved with my bank. To top it off, the pricing is more affordable compared to similar establishments, offering great value. Can't recommend Chapter Dining & Grill enough! Thanks for the great evening !

We had a very good meal here, authentic Vietnamese. We ordered vegetarian noodle soup and fried tilapia with passion fruit sauce and they were both delicious. We also asked for extra herbs on the side and those were delivered promptly as well. Friendly staff, clean place, good food. We would come here again and recommend it to others. One big bonus is that they take card, not always the case in Vietnam. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Asian cuisine is served in a slightly different way, for example, grilled fish wrapped in banana leaf served with fresh ingredients on a bamboo tray. Diners can choose how to eat it: it can be made like spring rolls with rice paper or eaten with rice. Big portions, Asian cuisine with a European price (overpriced), the taste doesn't meet the price.

This was a very enjoyable meal with subtle twist on Vietnamese classics. It's a small (Vietnamese) menu. There are also several Western options. If you are doing standard classic dishes then to stand out is a real challenge. We think Duongs succeeds. The staff are efficient but certainly not overwhelming or obsequious. The two of us shared set classic 1 and 2 and it was excellent. We did feel that the ice-cream didn't work with the more subtle dessert - and we like ice cream, but otherwise great. Recommended

Our first dining experience at Tungs Kitchen was fantastic. We had Kitty looking after us downstairs and look after us she did. With her assistance we ordered an amazing array of food to try and she also showed us how the food should be put together and eaten. Unfortunately it did all come at the same time and wouldn’t fit on our two person table but Kitty quickly moved us to a bigger table where we could eat comfortably. Upon leaving she also gifted me some of their rice paper which doesn’t need a quick soak in water like the ones I have previously used at home. The food and service was fantastic. It was so good that we made sure we came back again. This time we were seated upstairs. Once again the food came quickly and all at once so our table was too small again. I don’t think the young lady understood that we wanted to move to a bigger table and as the dishes wouldn’t fit I asked her to take two away and let us finish the two we ordered for entree first. These dishes were then just sat on a spare table near the stairs till we were ready, so unfortunately cold by the time we got to eat them but still delicious. Kitty asked me to review their Restaurant honestly so that is what I have done. Would have loved for the food to come out slower and at different times so we could take our time sampling their culinary delights. The restaurant would also benefit as being Aussies we love a drink or two with our food and was happy to spend more money the longer we were there 😉 Highly recommend this authentic restaurant, one of the best in Hanoi 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Entry is 40,000 per adult an additional 30,000 if you have a camera. This did not include phones but I am not sure where they draw the line. I don't think museum is an accurate description of this place as it is more a collection of things from majority the Vietnam war. Very little effort goes into explaining anything and displaying it any meaningful way. With so much history we can learn from I wish they did a better job of accurately presenting this. Also, just as a side note the toilets here are the worst I've seen in South East Asia. It seems they haven't been cleaned for months.

This place is lively, it's like the city centre. The street becomes walking street during the week ends and Friday to Sunday, there is a night market and live performances. Lot of shop on the road. Local food and local vibe you can get the feel of everything. The street gets really crowded, so be prepared to face a street filled with tons of people. We stayed near the old quarter and we would just walk around the hotel and get to the lake crossing the busy streets.

The pedestrian area is opened in three nights at the weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), from 7:00pm to 12:00pm in summer and from 6:00pm to 12:00pm in winter. Walking Street has become the place where many interesting and engaging community activities and events happen which greatly benefit the society as a whole. Not only bringing exciting experiences, traditional folk games like Tug-of-war, Mandarin squares capturing, Bamboo dancing, Bamboo jacks,…also serve as building bridges to connect people, helping us revisit our carefree childhood and forget all about the hustle and bustle of everyday life

Great little tourist experience! The first train during the week came at about 7:20PM, but I recommend coming at like 6:30/6:45 to get a seat at a cafe. The only downside is the "security". It's an open street. There is no entrance fee or specific cafe you need to go to, but there will be people standing at all the entrances saying that you cannot go up and that it's "dangerous" even though there's people right behind them walking along the tracks. They really just want you to go to their cafe. You can either walk right past them like we did (they called out to the police and the police do not care. It's a public street that you are allowed to walk on!) Or you can look at other reviews here and find the WhatsApp number for a genuine cafe and he will come out and save you. The street is very cute and there's lots to look at. Recommended to visit

Hanoi Old Quarter

Arguably the most popular locality in Hanoi, the Old Quarter is a go-to place which literally has everything for everyone. Hostels start at ~$5, there are plenty of mid-range options from ~$15, and even some plush options in the area. There are many popular attractions within the range of a mile or so. Buses are available to most of those attractions, and the frequency is good too, and prices are a flat VND 7,000 or 8,000 irrespective of the number of stops, although bus stops are at least a quarter mile away for most of the attractions, meaning that one will have to walk a bit. Busses usually run till 10.30pm. There is also a solitary metro which too runs till ~10.30pm. For late-night inter-city travel, there is no option of public transport. There is street food available on many of the streets, there are hotels everywhere from decent ones to fine-dines to posh ones, from local Vietnamese ones to Japanese, and Mexican et al. Do try some of the flavoured breads in various bakeries, I found them really delicious. There will always be a hidden food shop/cafe or two, in the sense, which won't be very discoverable given its location, mostly if it's in a quiet environment or not on the main roads, or not very visible when passing by, and it could turn to be amongst the very best. It's an enjoyable experience to walk around and explore various roads, and shops. Majority of shops start closing down from 10pm, and a significant majority of restaurants/shop are closed by 11pm. When it comes to connectivity to other regions too, this locality wins the race. Many buses to destinations like Ba Be, Mai Chau, and Cao Bang et al depart from places like Opera House, which again is within a mile's radius or so. So is Ga Hanoi, which serves as one of the links to popular tourist destinations like SaPa, HaiPhong, and Ninh Binh et al. And for the safety part. Having walked for some time in the late midnight, and very early morning, the place felt lively mostly ( perhaps it could be because this locality is the city-centre ), and silent at the remaining ( which is obvious too ). It was surprising to see some street food stalls, and also cloth stalls open during such hours. I didn't see any panhandlers or any anti-social elements around. I didn't feel insecure at any point in time walking on these roads, although I will admit that I didn't try any non-main roads at the given point in time. There will be motorbike and car taxi drivers who will ask you where you wanna go, but no one pressed me for using these taxi services. Depending on person to person, one could be approached ( in total I was approached by 4 people separately ) for services behind the curtains, needless to demystify the same, but again a direct 'no' ( twice if not once ) and/or 'not interested', and a continued walk means that such people go back, I didn't face any experience of anyone chasing me or persistently trying to sell whatever services they were offering. Basically, I didn't face any safety concerns, and it was in fact amazing to walk on the streets with cool wind blowing, trees around and watching the local sellers doing their business. Businesses, as I observed, start their schedules from quite early on. There are many spas in the area, many money exchange places ( although most of them will only exc cash by cash, and not card to cash ) ATMs, and tourism agency offices. Most of the businesses accepting cards will charge 3% fees for a card txn. The streets are clean and mostly wide enough but at quite some points, parked with bikes. Also, in several places, the streets are occupied by food hawkers and other small businesses, and this means one has to walk from roads for a stretch of a few meters. A significant majority of streets are well laid, and instances of cracked or uneven flooring are very less. On a number of counts I saw that even in the midnight and early morning with absolutely no traffic, all the cars and trucks respected the signals, which is really worth appreciating. In the peak hours, crossing on some roads can be a bit difficult.

My friend’s been wanting to take me here for a long time, and when I got to Hanoi the first thing she did was we walked towards the theatre and we bought tickets for the 630 show it was so good. It was so cute. It was so adorable. I would highly recommend this show for anyone. The puppets and the way they make the movement I mean it’s funny. Yes, it’s sung sort of in Vietnamese language it was but I think if you can look at the motion of the puppets, you can kind of figure out what they’re doing. Definitely go see this this is something you’ll never see anywhere in the world 🌎 unless
