Budapest, Hungary

Budapest is the capital and largest city of Hungary. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and is known for its incredible architecture, vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, and incredible nightlife. The city has a rich history dating back to the Roman Empire and is home to many historical sites such as Buda Castle, Fisherman’s Bastion, and Heroes’ Square. There are plenty of things to do in Budapest from exploring its world-class museums, trying traditional Hungarian cuisine at the local restaurants, or taking a cruise on the Danube River. No matter

What an exquisite dining experience! My husband and I were in Budapest to take a Viking cruise, and we made a reservation at this restaurant to savor Hungarian cuisine and wine. The combination of ingredients was creative; the presentation was beautiful; and most importantly, each dish was flavorful and unique in taste and texture. I was more impressed with Stand than with Per Se in New York. What a memorable gastronomic experience!

This was one of the best restaurant evenings I have had ever, I think...and much to do with the music! I had the set 3 course menu and this was lovely.. especially the Hungarian stuffed cabbage course. Nicely served in a lovely room with beautiful decor. The smiling head waiter was very friendly. For me personally, I was enthralled by the 2 musicians playing a range of Gypsy music from Russia, Hungary, Romania etc as well classical, film and popular music. They were having a great time, as the guests did as well. They were also happy to play requests, such as Theme from Schindler's List... beautiful. Thanks for a lovely evening all round...and letting me play some Scottish fiddle music for you too!! Fun too 😀 Totally recommend this restaurant

We visited this restaurant on our first day in Budapest (lunch) and the food was so good we decided to make it again as our last dinner in Budapest. Both times the food was very good, presented in a way a Michelin star restaurant would. Even better than the food was the service! AMAZING, both times we were served by Janos and he was fantastic. Always smiling and courteous. Thank you and we will be back on our next Budapest trip

Absolutely a great restaurant which doesn't look like that from outside. We were surprised about the delicious and high grade food for super price level. Amazing view from dish over the water to Buda Castle! We want to eat there again as soon as possible!

Very cute restaurant right in the downtown area. They do a mixture of Italian inspired and Hungarian dishes. We had some dishes, we really liked like the Hungarian Chicken Stew and Baby Chicken but some like the pork tenderloin that were too salty. The service was unfortunately just ok. The restaurant wasn't full at all but we had to look and call for our server a couple of times. The restaurant interior is super cute and creative. Overall worth checking out.

Truly amazing. We walked in and requested a table for 2. The staff kindly moved us to the bar before they could set up a table for us. The first thing we noticed was the modern decor that took our breath away. We started off with two refreshing drinks: a Vitamin Kick and a Mango Ice Tea. We ordered the Duck Liver Pâté for starters and two mains which were the Grilled Duck Breast with risotto and the Honey-mustard pork chop with vegetables. The meat was cooked perfectly and nothing on the plate was disappointing. All the different flavors were well-rounded. The sides were generous and just as good as the protein. We were so full after the mains that we could not order desserts. Definitely one of the best restaurants we visited in Budapest!

We got here on a Friday evening and it was really really busy (usually a good sign) so I would recommend you book in advance. Luckily the weather was good and they were able to accommodate us outside. The staff were all really friendly and provided lovely service, including talking through different options on the menu with us. The food itself (we had starters and mains) was delicious. Everything was prepared and cooked well - some interesting flavours in the traditional dishes that we hadn't tried before but quite enjoyed. The plating was also really nice as you can see in the pictures. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant as well! Would recommend.

Tried the meet-cute set with the wine pairing. Overall it was a pleasant experience. All the cuisines are inspired by local ingredients and well presented. The taste is good but not extraordinarily amazed. The wines are all local produced, and they did bring out the flavors of the dishes. Staff are amazingly friendly and nice! They carefully elaborate the details of the dishes and make all the customers feel relaxed and chill. Considering the price, I personally think it might not be the best option but still worthy to try!

Stop reading & JUST BOOK IT! Seriously it was the best dining experience I have ever had. It was a multi sensorial experience where every dish was better than the next, which can be hard with a tasting menu. Things ran perfectly on time and were prepared with detail and pride. I recommend doing the alcohol pairing- I loved that it wasn’t all wine, there was a mixed drink and cherry liquor at the end. Great for vegetarians as they try to respect dietary concerns. Food, ambiance, service and experience were out of this world. I hope I can go back again one day!!

Oh, my gosh this place is huge!! You can easily spend a whole day here. Get a map of the place right after the entrance as you will surely get lost otherwise. Tickets can be bought online, at a window or on a machine (way faster). There is so much to see and do (feeding sessions, petting zoo, science sections, places where you can get really close to the animals - vultures, lemurs, butterfly room, bats room). These were my favourite places! The decor is mesmerising and amazing in scale. There are multiple stop point where you can sit and enjoy some great meals and refreshments. Also, smoking sections along the way. The variety of animals was astonishing. All well kept and looked out for. With large enclosures and off-public hours.

Never been to a synagogue before, so this was quite an experience. This is the largest synagogue in Europe, and it's impressive. You can also see the cemetery, the memorial, and the museum. It is rather a sad experience as it shows how much pain people had to go through, but it's a must visit. The entrance is about £20.

It’s a very sobering experience. As an American, we read about WWII. We’ve seen movies, perhaps, if we were lucky, we met a holocaust survivor. But until you d stepped foot in a concentration camp, until you see shells and ruin of buildings bombed in WWII, until you look at these shoes filled with pebbles as a remembrance of a loved one, you don’t even begin to fathom the depth of pain and suffering. It’s a silent, sobering reminder that we must do everything in our power to not let hate win.

Gallery thermal baths were beautiful! We debated spending the money to enter, as it seemed like a tourist trap. But it’s absolutely worth it if you have time to spend a few hours inside. We stayed 2.5 hours. We arrived just after 9am and there were fewer people than we expected. It started to get busy around 10am. We loved hopping between the spas, saunas, and steam rooms.

Came here for a tour of the opera house. Price was on the high side with English tours being 9000huf, but it was quite a nice tour and the performance at the end makes it worth it for me. Really insightful guide, with a good overview of the history of the opera house. Performance at the end lasted 10 minutes which gives a good taste of the opera to anyone who wants to sample it.

A nice museum with a lot of different artifacts that cover the history of Hungary since humans evolved. I felt it was lacking info in the last 200 years and I also felt like it did not tell the whole story of Hungarys willing participation in the world wars. It was also quite confusing with the info since there were a lot of small info plates where some of them carried crucial info and some were meaningless

Not the variety or diversity of produce in comparison to other world renown markets but still definitely worth a visit. Great food stalls upstairs serving delicious Hungarian indulgences but very congested to negotiate. Upstairs are also many stalls selling souvenirs so make sure to browse before purchasing. Downstairs are fresh produce vendors and lots of stalls selling Hungarian paprika. The quality of meats is excellent and there's a huge variety of small goods. The market is housed in a huge neogothic building next to the famous Chain Bridge, overlooking the Danube in a beautiful bustling historic precinct. Recommend a visit 😊
