A Taj Mahal of red sandstone, with slender turrets and a dome, rises above the trees. It dawns on me that though it resembles the original monument of love, this one has no minarets. I am in Agra, the so-called City of Love and the Taj Mahal—but the Taj Mahal that I am looking at is a tomb built by a loving wife for her dead husband, not the other way around. History echoes from every corner of this famous city. In 1803, the British invaded Delhi, and then Agra, commencing 150 years of colonial rule in the subcontinent. Most people only associate the city with the Taj Mahal and the Mughal rulers, but besides the British, people from other nationalities also made it their home down the ages, from Italian jewelers, Dutch ship-owners to artisans from Central Asia. I walk through the graveyard, looking at inscriptions. Some of the oldest graves (and the simplest ones) belong to Armenians with inscriptions in Armenian, Latin and Persian. The Armenian traders were invited by Akbar to Agra (who even had an Armenian wife). Another red pyramid-shaped dome has a plaque that reads ‘Children of General Perron’.

Diwan-e-Aam at Delhi's Red Fort, this one is a massive pillared pavilion, fronted by a large garden. This was where the emperor would meet the general public, so to say: ambassadors, people offering tributes and gifts, people beating petitions, and people he was rewarding. In addition, horses or elephants were paraded here before the emperor, among other more showy elements of state. The pillared hall is fairly bare, but the white marble throne area has some lovely inlay work. In front of the Diwan-e-Aam, in two separate enclosures of their own, are remnants of British rule in India: a British cannon, and the tomb of John Russell Colvin, lieutenant governor of the North-Western Provinces, who died of cholera in 1857

The palace was used by Jahangir as his residence during his visits to Agra, and it was also used as a venue for important state functions. The palace was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in the 16th century as a residence for his son, Jahangir. Jahangir Palace is located inside the Agra Fort complex, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is made up of red sandstone and has a blend of Hindu and Islamic architectural styles. The palace has four courtyards and a number of chambers and halls. The most notable feature of Jahangir Palace is its stone columned hall, which has a beautiful jali or lattice work screen. Check My Channel- BPS Chauhan VLOGS

Best thing about this place is that it is a better option than Taj Mahal - less crowded, better view, serene and green. Just that it's not that maintained may be because less people visit it and more contribute to the crowd of Taj Mahal. Before going there, make sure to book tickets in advance online. Costs just 20 bucks. Wah Taj 👑😎😎👍👍

It’s not the most beautiful building to see in Agra, mainly because it’s not maintained/looked after much. However if you have extra time or pass by, take a look at it… entrance is free and it takes 5 minutes. Gotta say though, we didn’t enjoy being followed around by a group of 4 teenager boys, I had to tell them to leave us alone for them to go.

The garden was originally built by the Mughal emperor Akbar in the 16th century and was later renovated by his grandson, Shah Jahan. The garden is named Anguri Bagh, which means "grape garden," because it was originally planted with grapevines. The garden is surrounded by a high wall and features a central water channel with fountains. The water channel is lined with beautiful flower beds and trees. The garden was used by the Mughal emperors as a place of relaxation and retreat. It is said that Shah Jahan would often come here to enjoy the beauty of the garden and spend time with his family. The story behind Akbar’s Tomb is different from that of The Taj Mahal. Shahjahan started Taj Mahal’s construction for his wife Mumtaj so it is the mausoleum of Mumtaz Mahal especially. But the construction of Akbar’s Tomb Agra was commenced by Badshah Akbar himself to keep his sepulture. There are only few Tombs of this type in the world with such a great story behind the purpose of their construction. Good park for spending some time in greenery. There are several Peacocks inside. Sunday morning had very few visitors. We can have a view of Taj Mahal from here. A watch tower is also present. Bear in mind that Ticket charges are Rs 50 PP (Dec 2022), also there are no security guards inside this sprawling park. This is quite lonely & secluded inside. Be alert and take care. Some security arrangements must be made inside the complex. There should be guards posted as well as security cameras.

Visited The Greens Pure Veg Restaurant during our Agra tour. Had lunch with my family after our visit to Agra Fort. Ordered The Greens Executive Thali which has Chilli Paneer, Dal Makhani, Mix Veg, Boondi Raita, Jeera Rice, Butter Naan, Gulab Jamun and Salads BUT IN THE NAME OF SALAD, it has only 02 pieces of onion. Ordered Chhole Bhature which missed Salads and pickle. OWNER IS PUNJABI BUT STILL DON’T KNOW WHAT IS BHATURA AND HOW IT LOOKS. Ordered Cold Coffee and Salty Lassi which are AMAZING. Dining Hall is spacious BUT hand washing area is congested. Owner and Servers are very POLITE AND QUICK in service. Overall just OK experience. Pure Veg Restaurant is eye catching option for vegetarians. Hope the review helps !!! Regards.

Went to this place for lunch on 17-Jun-2023 as part of our Taj mahal visit. Even though the place was quite deserted we didnt have much doubts about the quality of food and services as we trusted the previous google reviews. Hence we went ahead and placed the order, however we regretted it soon after as we had to wait abt 45mins for the food to arrive. Food tasted okay but found it to be drenched in oil. Anyway, we finished it up quite fast and paid the bill, which was actually a bit on the higher side. Later we got to know from our driver ( who was waiting in his car) that the food we ate was bought from outside, from a near by small restaurant , the name of which I dont want to reveal here. So whoever who intends to visit this place be aware that u may actually be eating a low cost food from a local restaurant and paying up higher bills for the same.

One of the best "Taj" experience ever.... Awesome food, delightful service (especially by server in blue blazer, hope he got share in tip taken by other server) Food: 5/5 Ambience: 4/5 Food Presentation: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Food was royal, out of the world tasty, extremely flavorful, aromatic. Food way better then other Taj restaurants. For appetizers we ordered Galouti Kebab 3 ways and dahi ke Kebab. Both were very nice, both melted in mouth like butter. Nadru and anjeer kofte was star of the evening. Texture, smell and ofcourse taste was beyond words. Kofte were fluffy too. Paneer Lababdar was nice too. Among bread must try missi roti and fennel naan. Malpua with Rabri dessert was tooo good. Malpua were so soft and rabri was extremely creamy. They offer 3 Malpuas. Kulfi was delicious too. Among drinks we tried mojito and Guava mary. Both were normal as expected. Coming to ambience, place has royal touch to it. So was their food presentation. Brass utensils, Mughal style paintings. They have live music too . Singer was melodious. Price was below other Taj restaurants and will be around 2200-2500 per person. Overall it was memorable experience with one of the best Indian food served.

Power cut when I dined. May be our bad luck! But the whole time we were there there was no power. Almost died from the heat. But the staffs were nice to treat us. Food was tasty..Priced a bit higher compared to the quantity ( 300-500Rs for chefs special thali) . Most of the photos posted aren't actually the ones from the restaurant😁. Google images! Luckily the taste of food was good otherwise would have been shocking! (No power right!!). Re-editing the review I wrote above -- Both of us(me and wife) had overnight issues with the food with my wife facing issues like vomiting. Suspecting some additives in the food which didn't suit her well. Luckily for me having consumed non-veg I was fear stricken! But seems only to be having mild indigestion issue. This place the moment we stepped was empty and I'm usually the person who prefers places that are decently crowded. But here only we were the customers. Regretting why still I chose to! I hope the management will look into the issue and resolve it.

This is a lovely place indeed. Beautifully laid out amidst a huge garden. it's located close to Agra on the old Delhi-Agra highway. I really enjoyed the serene atmosphere of this monument. The monument could be much grander if the maintenance of the main monument was somewhat better. There are huge water channels and fountains which are now dry. There is small building devoted to photos and write ups of the mughal dynasty and also gives more details about the monument and it's architecture.

No wonder, this is one of the elected Seven Wonders of the World. The natural temparature of Agra is very Hot and Humid. But our travel was blessed with rains presence. Took 3.5 Hours to go from Delhi. But if you start late, say after 8 am, traffic will take more time. There will be or should be at least two proper stoppage after the toll plaza if you are traveling with kids and elderly people. The inside area of Tajmahal is Huge and normally overcrowded on Weekends. It would take two hours or so if you need to have a thorough walk inside and follow your tourist guide instruction. These MARBLES are Awesome and you wont find these elsewhere in the world. If time permits, you should also visit the Agra Fort nearby
