Bangkok, Thailand

1. Visit the Grand Palace and Wat Pho: The Grand Palace is one of Bangkok’s most famous landmarks. It was the former royal residence and is now a major tourist attraction. Be sure to check out Wat Pho, which houses one of the largest Buddha images in Thailand.2. Take a boat ride on the Chao Phraya River: A great way to explore Bangkok is to take a long-tail boat ride on the Chao Phraya River, which runs through the city center. Along the way you’ll get to see many of Bangkok

Very nice place to sit and relax during hot sunny day or evening. The of Rama VIII Bridge at night is mesmerising. Grab a seat near the river side and enjoy sun set. They play music in the evening too.

A very nice place for both kids and adults. I went there on Saturday morning at 10 am and it was not too crowded. I recommend buying the tickets online to save you some time. This place does not have a large number of creatures but it’s still an interesting experience if you’re in Bangkok. It should take 2 - 3 hours if you want to see some feeding shows.

A truly beautiful and significant place in the history of this city, definitely worth a visit. We Europeans probably cannot appreciate the importance of this place enough, but for the Thais it is a very important and highly sacred place.

This magnificent temple features a 150-foot (46-meter) long reclining Buddha. The Buddha is exquisitely ornamented, and it is particularly important to see the exquisite detail on the feet made of mother of pearl. The temple's walls are likewise lavishly embellished and colorful. It is usually advisable to dress appropriately when visiting temples, but it is well worth it to get a close-up look at something so stunning.

The King Prajadhipok Museum in Bangkok offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of Thailand and the life of King Prajadhipok. Entry to the museum is free of charge and mind you the AC inside is working in full blast so make sure your dressed appropriate 😉 Visitors can explore various exhibits that showcase the reign of King Prajadhipok, the last absolute monarch of Thailand. From personal artifacts and photographs to multimedia presentations, the museum paints a vivid picture of the era and the challenges faced by the king during his reign. Overall, the King Prajadhipok Museum is a worthwhile visit for history enthusiasts and those curious about Thailand's political evolution. Its well-curated exhibits, knowledgeable staff, and serene ambiance create an enriching experience that sheds light on an important period in Thai history

The palace is a place where you get caught with time travelling. Omit the muzeum. The houses are nicely decorated especially the house-in-a-house, the story about the boat from a 19 meters log, the musical room etc. Thanks to the Prince and Princes. Without their effort we will not be able to travel back to old days. How house was made in A shape, bridges connecting houses. I don't have words to describe. The guide ask me to go to another two places if I love to know more. Surely I will. You guys, for a 100 baht you get a special guide to tell you the history in a special way for easy understanding.

Nice weekend morning or afternoon getaway. The gardens are small, but there are a lot of beautiful butterflies. Some of the butterflies may even fly onto your hand. Perfect for small kids and families. Also, perfect to combine a visit to Chatuchak Park and the huge weekend market at Chatuchak (clothes, housewares, pets, street food).

A nice place that educates the public on snakes! It was super educational, interactive and fun! We also got the chance to put a huge yellow python on our shoulders! Unfortunately we missed the snake extraction show but other than that, the place is quite small but pretty with an indoor museum on snakes with AC and also an outdoor exhibition of snakes in cages. I was so happy that they had student price (100 baht), adult ticket is 200 baht and child ticket is 50 baht.

Two Michelin stars fine dining restaurant with great atmosphere and a stunning view. I was a bit surprised by our course menu, which was Japanese cuisine, which I wasn't expected to have Asian cuisine. I was expected to enjoy Western cuisine, but the entire dinner was just incredible with various textures, flavours, and the best products. I loved every single dish.

I recently dined at LE DU Bangkok, the 2023 Top 1 of Asian Best 50 restaurants, and I must say, I was quite disappointed with my experience. While the food at LE DU Bangkok did meet expectations, it did not go beyond that. Firstly, considering the fine-dining prices, I expected a more intimate and private atmosphere. However, the restaurant fell short in creating a truly exclusive ambiance. The lack of privacy affected the overall dining experience. Furthermore, the service was inconsistent. While some servers were enthusiastic and attentive, others seemed disinterested and provided robotic presentations of the dishes. This lack of alignment throughout the meal was quite noticeable and detracted from the overall dining experience. One of the biggest letdowns was the wine pairing. Not only was there a lack of explanation regarding why certain wines were chosen to accompany specific dishes, but a lack of wine serving common sense by combining two bottles of same wine into a glass in front of the guest was simply unacceptable. Overall, despite its accolades and reputation, my experience at LE DU Bangkok did not live up to the high expectations. The lack of a private dining atmosphere, inconsistent service, and disappointing wine pairing left me feeling underwhelmed. I hope the restaurant takes these points into consideration to improve the dining experience for future guests.

Such a special restaurant! Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday off of the recommendation of a Thai friend. Good for elevated Thai cuisine. Has an a la carte and tasting menu - tasting menu looked very good with the special effects of dry ice, a distillation set up for one of the soups. We had the a la carte menu so we pick what wr wanted - had the pandan chicken (delicious!), grilled wagyu beef striploin, grouper and red/white jasmine rice on the side. I mentioned we were flying over from the UK and that it was my boyfriend’s birthday and they made it extra special with extra dishes from the chef and remembering that one of us didn’t eat seafood. We had a welcome drink, light bite, complimentary extra dessert on top of what we ordered and the whole waitstaff sang happy birthday with a birthday dessert as well! the mango sticky rice was also one of the best I’ve ever had. Total with 2 beers and cocktail was 6700 baht which was very reasonable given the service, quality of food and hospitality. I highly recommend this place if you want to go somewhere special and try fine dining but also want to feel relaxed and comfortable.

A total food lover’s experience!! When a chef creates a journey of the senses and can tantalise the taste buds and transform food from a plate so one’s mind goes on a journey with every mouthful, you know they are an artist of the senses!! Just AMAZING chef!! You are a master. All the Sous chefs and waitresses were sensational. Every dish on our 8 course modern French menu was described in detail and suggested to eat in a particular order to maximise the joy of the dish. If you go to dinner for an experience and divine tastebud sensations, then this is a must!! Oh and chef, thank you for the wonderful gifts and surprises during the evening. 😋

Great little place to get breakfast or lunch. Found it by accident on our way to our hotel and went back for lunch. It was so good we went for every breakfast and most lunches for the week. This is a restaurant that is quite popular. It's my first time dining here. The food is modern Thai cuisine. The dishes we tried had a unique presentation that made it difficult to guess what we were eating. Personally, some dishes were done well with modern cooking techniques, while others were overly sour and lacked balance in flavor. The advantage is that the price is quite reasonable. If you like modern-looking Thai food, it's worth trying.

I was in Bo.Lan with a very high aspectation, aspecting to try a refine/Autenthic Thai Cousine , but i think Netflix destroy the good base they build in the past.ambient outside and entrace good, restaurant himself dark and sad…Staff friendly, not realy prepared but …. Amuses and starter good almost till the end , with the lycis start the experience slowing down. . main course ( all at ones fulling the table) everage and i think they need to review the temperature everything cold. We had wine paring and they serve 2 glass at the same time , 1 red and 1 white… Enjoy and choose 😂. Curry with what thei called Seabass,no comment , fish was impossible to cut, watching the other tables same story ( no knife on the table). Pork belly with gum kind of raw skin. Pre dessert and “dessert “, no comment. Sound that Every course it’s base on coconut and shrimps paste and ginger. Menú never change, and it’s 1…Nice the chili. Was not an Experience at all and an we paid an Amazing price that for respect i will not mention. wine pairing ( all open bottles and all dinner they serve us the end of the bottle, realy unbilivable 🙏🏻). Anyway what to do , everything become just a business a certain point. Bo was not there her husband yes, nice to see him at the begining and after no interaction anymore.. and they have just few tables, that can make a different i believe… Their own Tea, was spectacular flavour.i think should be a store and not a Restaurant… But just an opinión.

The ambience is quite nice next to the river, with pleasant breeze. Those who attract mosquitoes should ask for a spray. The service was prompt, attentive and discreet. The food took awhile but was well prepared and quite savory. My Mom who is quite demanding felt the taste was about right. As for the price, well it’s in a 5 star hotel so don’t expect any value. The place also has a private room for those celebrating special occasions. So if you want a nice restaurant by the river with privacy and good food then this place is well worth the visit. It did take a while to walk through the hotel to get there but it’s a fine hotel with old Siam design and great for photo op.

Cozy place to see Bangkok from above. Located in the rooftop of The Continent Compass building so i could say its price is equal (to its investment). There are not many options for vegan menu as well as non alcohol drink. Owned by an Indian thus our spring roll has exact Indian flavor and was served in a mystery box 📦 which is kinda interesting. What i love the most is their ice cream 🍨!!! The staffs are nice and helpful but they are quite slow to serve. They gave us free water as gift for our monks.

Clean and simple restaurant! Easy to order and they have a variety of items to choose from. Taste is good for all dishes.. with my favorite being the raw shrimps which I haven’t had in years! Grilled pork neck was dry but the Som Tam (papaya salad) was delicious and spot on. The Tom Yum Goong was a tad too spicy for me so if you can’t take spice then I would suggest you avoid it. The fresh coconut was soothing to the mouth after all that spicy food! Worth a visit if you are staying around here.

This small hotel restaurant is in the middle of the old city and close to Khao San Road. It has a relaxing environment and is surrounded by beautiful trees, making it a great place to get away from the busy city outside. On the menu, there are many real Thai foods, some of which come from old royal house recipes. There is a great selection of tasty bites, satisfying main dishes, and mouthwatering sweets. Even though the restaurant isn't very big, there may be a short wait because there aren't a lot of workers. While the cuisine is delicious, I must say that I had greater hopes for the quality of service and the use of premium silverware.

The Emerald Buddha Temple is actually part of the Grand Palace complex (this means you cannot visit it separately unless you buy a ticket for the Grand Palace). You have to buy a ticket for visiting both, which will cost 500 baht for farangs / foreigners. Outside the temple, in front, you can bless yourself with lotus flowers and holy water. It is forbidden to take photos inside the temple, only outside is allowed. Like with all temples in Thailand, you will have to take your shoes off and be dressed modestly (shoulders covered, long pants, etc) for both men and women. There are shops and changing rooms where you can buy clothes in that regard if you come unprepared, but they will obviously be heavily overpriced. So best to have them with you. Since there are changing rooms at the entrance, you can get the clothes in your bag and simply change at the palace.

I visited this place and noticed that it attracts more tourists than locals, despite the fascinating story of the house and the fame of Thai silk-making. Inside are different sections, including a guided tour of the place in foreign languages (English, Chinese, and Japanese), a cafe, a brand shop, and a renovated restaurant. The admission fee is only 200 baht, and the tour lasts 45 minutes. The atmosphere at Jim's in Thompson felt shady as if it's not in Bangkok. The food and drinks at the cafe were alright, but I found the prices a bit high for the portion sizes. On a positive note, there's a rotating exhibition on the second floor of the brand store, and it's free to view.

Some exhibits is interactive and throughout the Museum you get to learn more about Thai culture. They do have audio guides and lockers for people to use on the ground floor before starting on the 3rd floor. Each exhibit does have AC which was a great plus as we looked around and learned more about Thai culture. There are bathrooms and an elevator as well. There is also a show that going through Thai history that plays on the 3rd floor. In some exhibits there are like Thai school uniforms you can try on and take some pictures and another places where you can change the backdrop and have some accessories to take pictures as well on the second floor. There is a restaurant on the back of the Museum and a station right in front of it for easy access. I enjoyed the museum and while we were there it looks like they are working on another exhibit. For 100 baht it definitely was worth it and can definitely take your time learning about being Thai.

The National Museum of Bangkok is an perfect place to learn about the history and culture of Thailand. The exhibits cover different periods of Thailand's history, from ancient times to modern day. You can see many interesting artifacts, such as ancient treasures, Buddha statues, traditional costumes, and more. The museum provides facilities for people with disabilities. It's a large area with several buildings, so I would recommend budgeting around 3 hours for a visit to the museum. Note that in some areas, you are required to take off your shoes. You can purchase tickets at the door for 200 baht. This is a must-visit place if you want to learn more about Thailand and its culture.
