Where you live and why you love what you do

This will be in information that will be shown to travelers, so make it as complete and comprehensive as possible.

Add a profile video

Introduce yourself to your travelers. Keep it short, 10-15 secs, E.g Name, where you live and why you love what you do.

Add information about yourself

Click on profile to enter your information. This will be the information that will be shown to travelers, so make it interesting, you want to make a good impression.

See your page on the web

When you hit the update button to save your information, you will be returned to the 3 bar menu. There will be your personal link under your name. This is the webpage that travelers will be sent from Google travel. So click on it make any modifications in your Profile that you feel necessary.

Create at least three 15-25 second videos

This will allow travelers to get a sense of you and your destination.

Click on "My Experiences" on the top menu and below that click on "Add an Experience"

Please ensure all videos are shot in portrait mode and not landscape

Add an Experience name

i.e. "Skydiving" "Walking in the downtown area". You do not have to add the name of the destination, we will do that on the next screen.

Just try to make it interesting e.g. "Hula dance at sunset". You can add emojis

Add a short video, 15-25 secs

You can add a picture, but that will not be ranked as high as a video. It's better to do one video than 5 pictures. Videos are more engaing and captivating and will build your brand quicker.

We would recommend 3-5 videos a week to keep your brand in a strong position.

Add description

Once you select a video the initial upload takes 10 seconds, but you can start entering in the location, tags and a description.

The description will be shown as text as the video is being played, 70% of the people watch videos with the sound off. This is why description is mandatory.

Location let's Google know where to show your content.

Once you submit you may see another loading screen, depending on your internet connection.

Creating videos

Wherever you live in the world, it's fascinating to people that do not live there. So what you may consider a normal daily activity to others who can get a glimpse of your location it's very interesting.

So whether it be the sun going down, having a coffee with a local delicacy, walking in the bazaar, sharing some local buildings it's interesting for others.

People in Kazakhstan are curious to know how people in Kenya live their lives and vice versa.

People in Adelaide have a different climate and culture to people in Anchorage and would be intrigued to learn those differences.

So just take short videos that give people that window of your location, so we can learn each other's culture and how we live our lives.

In this small way we hope to bring a little happiness to people around the world.

Make it informative, make it inspiring and if possible a little entertaining, but always authentic.

Lastly, many people are shy about being on camera, no problem, do not show yourself, show your location, turn the camera away from you and just explain what you are showing.

We want to make the videos about the location and not about you:)
